Bed In Summer
*
In winter I get up at night
And dress by yellow candle-light.
In Summer, quite the other way,
I have to go to bed by day.
*
I have to go to bed and see
The birds still hopping on the tree,
Or hear the grown-up people's feet
Still going past me on the street.
*
And does it not seem hard to you,
When all the sky is clear and blue,
And I should like so much to play,
To have to go to bed by day.

What a lovely picture & poem! Thank you for sharing. :D
Thank you!! Sorry it took so long for my reply.
I thought about the poem while I was trying to put the kids to bed. It took a while for them to get used to going to bed while it was still sunny outside!
I just read this to my children the other day from the book. They just laughed and thought it was great. Now my oldest is always quoting lines to me while I chastise her to get ready for bed. LOL
