Gingerbread Cake

GINGERBREAD CAKE

1/2 c. butter

1 c sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 c. molasses
2 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. ginger
1 c. hot water

Bake cake at 350 degrees.

Bake cake and let cool. Slice desired amounts and cover with Gingerbread Glaze.

GINGERBREAD GLAZE:


6 tbsp. butter
1 c. sugar
3 tbsp. flour
1 1/2 c. hot water

Mix and let cool a little then add 3 egg yolks. Cook above mixture until nearly thick.


Add slowly: 3 tsp. vanilla 1/4 tsp. salt


*Recipe does not state how long to bake. I would check after 20 or 30 minutes.
